This blog is about the "adventures" of the Lyons family and the amazing blessings that God provides us.

Yesterday Trevor and I got another opportunity to see an ultrasound of Truett. My last ultrasound was unconclusive so as a precaution the doctor asked that we have another. Everything was perfect! Truett currently weighs 2lbs 11oz and is 28 weeks along. We were amazed at the features that we could pick out! All 10 fingers and 10 toes accounted for. At one point Truett was sucking his thumb and holding on to the embilical cord! The craziest thing was that when we got to see his face it amazed us how much he looked like Charis! We said it at the same time and were shocked that we both thought so, but you could tell that their profiles were the same. They have the same cute pointed nose and round chin. I think this was the first time that Truett seemed real. We have yet to really prepare for his arrival so the whole thing seemed kind of distant but now not so much. We are both getting excited and are excited about Tyson and Charis getting excited too. They watched the ultrasound DVD with us and again I think it really set in that there would be another Lyons!

Civilization
Yesterday we took the kids to the Richmond Children's Museum. It was wonderful that we are finally in a place where I feel like my kids can be getting the different experiences that I desire them to have. It was a subtle reminder that God is going take care of us. His promises are neverending and He is for us no matter what. Anyway, I could see the wheels turning as Tyson and Charis ran from exhibit to exhibit. They got the chance to pretend to do their own news cast and were so cute trying to read the cue cards that Daddy was holding up. I think Charis enjoyed "shopping" and being the cashier the best and Tyson was fasinated with the apple tree. He picked "apples" sent them up the juicer where they returned to the tree. We finally had to drag him away after about 45 minutes. You could tell that they were learning and taking everything in. I was especially excited to hear Tyson telling Grandma about his day on the phone later, something that just never happens.

The Great Escape

Sometimes running away is the only option! Trevor and I have always had an inside joke about adventures that we take, but honestly, our adventures have been few and far between lately. So, desperately needing an escape we gathered everyone up, jumped in the car and ran away to the mountains! This was probably the greatest time we have ever had together as a family. Tyson and Charis, so sweet, had our complete attention and love and in turn gave us the love that we needed from them so badly! Awesome times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fire Restraunt
Last night Trevor decided he wanted Japanese because he was going to be away for a couple of days and we always try and do something fun with the kids if we are going to be away from them. So, after multiple potty trips off we went. Now, you should know that last time we did this both children freaked out at the chef and the fire that happens when they cook. There was also an episode where a waiter came to fill Trevor's drink and upon taking it Charis screamed because she thought he was stealing the drink. So, our track record was not so good, but I have to tell you they did great! Tyson, started off scared but once he got into to it he laughed and laughed! He couldn't believe they throw food at you! Both Tyson and Charis ate large portions of rice and vegetables and shrimp their favorite. It was probably the most enjoyable night we have had out with them. The fire restaurant as Tyson called it was a great idea!

Catching Up...

I haven't blogged in, well I'm not sure but I know it has been a while. Truthfully, I have been really sick. Morning, noon, and night sickness! Not only have I been nauseated but I have had serious fatigue and in general bad feeling all over. My sinuses have even been awful! So, I haven't felt like doing much of anything and when I get done here I plan on napping.
On the up side we had snow! The first I have actually seen since moving here. The kids were so excited but said that it only lasted a 1/2 day. Their amazement made me happy. They got to make snow angels and throw snow balls at Daddy and the dog. It really was a nice break amidst morning sickness.

Pirates in my House!
Today is an absolutely beautiful day outside and when those days happen the backyard is open for business! So, Tyson with a pirate hate and Charis with a cowboy outfit set out on the seven seas as pirates. I could hear Charis shouting (in a preppy girl voice) "Ahhhh mates." So cute! They also told me that they were playing "'X Marks the Spot." I love it when they use their imaginations!

First Doctor Visit
I had my first OB visit today. For some reason I was incredibly nervous. I don't remember being that way with the other two, but wow my heart almost exploded! Everything went fine. The baby looks great. I am due Oct. 14th, but will probably have the baby before that since I have to have another c-section. I know I will get nervous about that as time approaches it being my third and all but I will go to God in prayer and I know that He will take care of everything!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day this year was needless to say eventful! But allow me to hit some of the sweet highlights and the rest will be revealed in the coming days. First, Trevor surprised me at midnight with 18 pink and red roses. He also got 6 pick roses for Charis and when she woke up Valentine's morning he presented them to her. She exclaimed, "fo me?" She was precious! I got Tyson a new baseball tee for the back yard and daddy also gave Charis some bath soaps and a horse for her doll house. They were so sweet to tell everyone and each other over and over Happy Valentine's Day. I really do believe that they love one another and that God couldn't have created a better brother sister combo.
Valentine's night we went to O'Charley's to eat. They were very well behaved and excited to be out. Tyson was especially cute when the waitress saw that he was more interested in drinking my tea than his sprite. She asked him if he would like his own tea and he quickly nodded his head. When she came back with the tea his excitment poured over and he said, " my very own tea?" Who would have thought that was all it took to make his day. He has such a sweet heart!
